I figured I would just drop out a few facts on money and real Heavy Hitters.

Tiger Woods is on track to be the first billionaire athlete.  There are over a thousand billionaires.  Bill Gates from Microsoft is now number three.  He is behind Mexican, Carlos “Slim Thugga” Helu and Warren Buffet.  Check out the Forbes site for more on billionaires.

2008 Rap/HipHop Earners (this came from BadCopNoDonuts who got it from Forbes)  Notice Dre, Em, and Snoop are still on top.  50 is just killin (though most of the money came from the one time sell of vitamin water).  Diddy is third which is almost 5 times less than 50.  I was surprised to see Swizz Beatz making so much, but dude hustles, so more power to him.

1. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson: $150 million
2. Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter: $82 million
3. Sean “Diddy” Combs: $35 million
4. Kanye West: $30 million
5. Timothy “Timbaland” Mosley: $22 million
6. Pharrell Williams: $20 million
7. Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean: $17 million
8. Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Broadus: $16 million
9. André “Dr. Dre” Young: $15 million
10. Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges: $14 million
11. Clifford “T.I.” Harris: $13 million (tie)
11. Dwayne “Lil Wayne” Carter: $13 million (tie)
12. Marshall “Eminem” Mathers: $12 million (tie)
12. Lonnie “Common” Lynn Jr.: $12 million (tie)
12. Aliaune “Akon” Thiam: $12 million (tie)
13. Jermaine Dupri: $11 million (tie)
13. Jonathan “Lil Jon” Smith: $11 million (tie)
14. OutKast: $10 million (tie)
14. Hakeem “Chamillionaire” Seriki: $10 million (tie)
14. Jayceon “The Game” Taylor: $10 million (tie)

Car Motivation

Saw these pics over at an autoblog gallery. This should give Monday morning a bit of motivation. There is nothing like a bowl of Maserati Ferrari Lamborghini Bugatti Mercedes and Porsche cereal to start the day off right.

Play or Watch

You have options in life. Take advantage of them. I would read about Jason Bourne and talk to people about the movies and the places he would have traveled. Then I decided why not do them myself. I would also hear about people flipping homes or making loot in various places. I could choose to sit back and watch. I would have a great time doing so. I could discuss the lives of others in front of me and on tv. Or I could play the game. Life is only but so complicated. Most of the opportunities are right in front of us… And if you do what you want, it is all the more fun.

We all know Trump owns mad buildings and has been renting out places for a long time to probably thousands of people, but this rental is special. Donald is bailing out Ed McMahon from his foreclosure. He will be buying his $4.6 million home and leasing it back to him. There is all kinds of irony in this, being that Trump was in college while watching Ed on tv. I am sure Trump is going to be getting a nice deal on this property.

I caught this over at blogmaverick.  This is a post on starting up a business.  I am going to summarize some of the points.  You can check the link for more details on some of the points.  I have lots of respect for Cuban and what he has been able to do with businesses.  I also like the attitude that he has and passion for his businesses.

“1. Don’t start a company unless its an obsession and something you love.

2. If you have an exit strategy, its not an obsession.

3. Hire people who you think will love working there.

4. Sales Cures All. Know how your company will make money and how you will actually make sales.

5. Know your core competencies and focus on being great at them.

6. An expresso machine ? Are you kidding me ? Shoot yourself before you spend money on an expresso machine.

7. No offices. Open offices keeps everyone in tune with what is going on and keeps the energy up.

8. As far as technology, go with what you know. That is always the cheapest way. If you know Apple, use it.

9. Keep the organization flat. If you have managers reporting to managers in a startup, you will fail.

10. NEVER EVER EVER buy swag. A sure sign of failure for a startup is when someone sends me logo polo shirts.

11. NEVER EVER EVER hire a PR firm. A PR firm will call or email people in the publications, shows and websites you already watch, listen to and read.

12. Make the job fun for employees. Keep a pulse on the stress levels and accomplishments of your people and reward them. “

I stumbled across these pictures today and was motivated.  This is the type of thing I really like and would love to have as an escape on a hundred acres outside of the city.  This was on Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects site, check the site out for more pics of this cabin and others.

House in the Hills

For some reason I thought Beckham was the only person making money in soccer in the US.  Then I saw these pics of the LA Galaxy coach Ruud Gullit’s house over at luxist.  This house is listed at $4.25 million.

Vacation

I wanted to post some pictures of the various things I did while down south.  Unfortunately my camera was left in a taxi (by someone).  Anyhow, it was a great trip.  These are some pics from the web that demonstrate the whale watching in Puerto Lopez.  The humpback whales swam all around the boat.  Having such a huge whale under your boat is a bit intimidating.  A fun place to visit is Montanita.  It is a place where you have to be a f’n loser to have a bad time.  I will post some of the houses that I thought were good deals soon.  It was a very relaxing trip and something I desperately needed.
