Who is keeping you from meeting your goals?  Who is keeping you from the lifestyle you want?  Why don’t you have the portfolio you want, the real estate, the money, the cars, the girls, the friends, the vacations, etc…  There have been many times in my life where I felt I was held back from various goals.

I was at a book store this past weekend killing some time between meetings (and looking to get the new Heavy Hitters Magazine, which was not out yet).  So I walk around and pass the business section to see what is new.  I notice that things have not really changed, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Millionaire this and that, books on everything.  I pass by a guy with 20 of the 50 top selling business books of all time on a table.  He is studying it as if money will fall out of the sky if he memorizes the right passage.  It is as if he is looking for “The Answer” in these books.  Do you consider that trying?

There is nothing like the feeling you get in your gut when you make a move in business, whether it is signing a contract, buying something, or selling something for the first time.  Books do not teach you that.  They do not do the work for you.  You can read how to do things day in and day out.  And I think you should be prepared and have a strategy before jumping into things.  You just have to take that next step.  I have a page full of books with tons of knowledge in them.  Owning the books will not make you money.  Applying the strategies might.

I have thought of the various excuses I have had in life as to why I have not done various ventures, from the chick, the family, school, etc…  There are millions of reasons why we do not do things.  I have tried to partner with people that are not able to pull their weight.  They don’t have the time, they have other priorities.  Your priorities have to be straight to make money and get things done.  One thing that is common amongst most millionaires, they have their priorities right.

In ten years when you look back on your life what will you wish you would have done?  If you make excuses for yourself, you will never get anywhere.  You can say I am not making what I need to at my job, or you could do something about it.  You can say that you are not able to work extra hours because of your relationship, or you could do something about it.  The important thing to note is, you can change almost every situation in your life.Sacrifice might even be a word that comes into play.  To get to where you want to be, you might have to sacrifice time, relationships, and other things.  It basically comes down to one thing.  You have to make it happen.  So, who’s to blame when your life is lame?

This is unfortunately mad tru. I don’t have any peeps that I know of that do not want to be successful. They just have excuses. And if they really look at those excuses, they all point back to the person.

What helps me to keep my priorities straight is to make a 1) list of things-to- do, 2 Priorities and 3) work on getting sh*t done. I know it’s seems simple but its hard to keep at when life has so much distractions. But yes, this is my daily routine and it seems to work for me.

Do it until scratching things off the list feels real good – that’s how I roll.

Do I consider that as trying?

At some point it is considered as an initiative to make a change or adjust current situation.
So yea, I do consider this trying - just not with the right horsepower .

well I probably spent 1 weekend a month for 2 whole years reading as much as I could at barnes and nobles trying absorb as much as I could.

I wasn’t looking for the holy grail - I was just looking to read for free!

but I agree with everyone else. there are always people who whine about everything thats wrong in their lives. I got rid of those people - they waste your time.

My favorite response is ’stop whinning - I’m not your mother!’.

Of course, everyone needs to rant now and then, but don’t make negativity a habit.

@King Hustle. I agree. Ultimately you are responsible for you

@designatedblogger44 I didn’t mean to knock it too hard. You should be prepped when going into a venture. It was just a crazy site, next time I will take a picture and throw the guy on blast.

Realistically I feel those readings are more applicable once you are in the game. Reading books from the sidelines just make it a scholarly activity. Getting on the grind allows you to apply and try things.

Either way, reading is a start, and part of the Hustle Strategy, just one part of it though.

@Gold-i-locks Good to see you posting about some coin over here. You got to be prepped and reading for free is definitely less expensive than losing your shirt on an investment. But there comes a time where you start.

Law 10 Infection: Avoid the Unhappy and Unlucky - from the 48 laws of power. This is key. Avoid negativity, this chapter was very well written.

@Wasabi Bratwurst I always have a checklist. I do “todos” daily. I put everything on it, not just the hard items of the day. I put some easy things on just to get the ball rolling. If I do not get something done, the next day starts with the unfinished/continued items. You can do them on post it notes, a palm or whatever as long as you do it…
